In the Andean culture the traditional manta is the most important family textile.  Used for carrying everything from babies to firewood.  Woven in two sections with intricate patterns and joined at the borders with tubular eye weaving finishing.   You can wear it, hang it on a wall or decorate a table.

The Center for Traditional Textiles of Cusco was started by a group of Quechua women in Peru.  They came together to try and recover traditional designs, relearn ancient weaving techniques and help support their families.  All their work features only natural dyes and fibers.     CTTC helps preserve and celebrate Andean textiles, improve the economy of the villages, and assist weavers in carrying on a tradition practiced for more than 2000 years.

Dimensions:  31” square
