Large Decorative Frog Clip Earrings

Frogs were likely mythic figures in South America. For many ancient Americas cultures, frogs, like other amphibians, had a dual symbolism of fertility and death.  They were associated both with the underworld from which they emerge and water in which they live.   These stylized earrings are inspired by pieces remaining from the Tairona culture of Colombia.  Made in Colombia using the lost wax production methods.  Made of brass, with a layer of silver, then gold plated.
