Wayuu Mochila Bag - Columbia

This authentic Wayúu Mochila Bag is a one-of-a-kind, hand crocheted bag, with an intricate woven strap.    Wayúu Bags are famous in the world for their uniqueness and impeccable workmanship.  It takes about 40-45 days to weave each one.  Mochila Bags are used in the daily lives of the Wayúu, as traveling day bags.  

The Wayúu people, natives from the Northern Guajira deserts of Colombia, are indigenous nomads.  This region is one of the most interesting in Colombia with its snow-capped peaks, vast deserts, one-of a kind fauna and flora specimens from cloud forests, immense salt mines, and surrounded by beautiful white beaches.
